Discerning

To be a follower of Jesus implies that we receive direction from Jesus. We call this Discernment. Jesus had an amazing ability to discern what God wanted him to do day by day. It was a way of life. In John 5:19, Jesus said,

“Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.”

There are four ways Jesus will give us direction. By care and practice, we can develop a discerning heart.
